Vilano Oaks is located on the north barrier island of St. Augustine, 5 miles from the city limit and 15 miles south of Ponte Vedra. You might want to start by viewing some wonderful photography of our surroundings by one of our own neighbors.

We’re in a perfect location to enjoy a wide variety of central and North Florida offerings. Explore the history of the oldest city in the United States as you are 10 minutes away from the St. Augustine downtown historic district. Visit the Castillo de San Marcos, as Spanish fort completed in the mid-1600’s. Walk through the old city gates and shop along famous Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Potter’s Wax Museum, and the Lightner Museum. Tour the historic buildings like the many 18th and 19th century homes, or the Memorial Presbyterian Church. Catch street vendors in Plaza de la Constitucion between King and Cathedral Streets. Visit St. Augustine’s unique zoo – The Alligator Farm on Anastasia Island features birds, reptiles, and an unique zip-line adventure that takes you over the alligator ponds. Two companies provide guided tours either via trolly or street train. Youu can also ride in horse drawn carriage through downtown.

While on Anastasia Island, visit the historic lighthouse and a variety of dining options. Or, catch a name act at the intimate St. Augustine Amphitheatre – simply one of the best venues to see a show anywhere. Both Vilano Beach and St. Augustine Beach on Anastasia Island offer wide sandy beaches. A daily or annual pass allows you to take your 4-wheel drive vehicles on the beach. St. Augustine is home to many art galleries and the first Friday of every month, a down-town art walk keeps these galleries open in the evening for viewing and complimentary wine and cheese. The last Saturday of every month, a similar event, Uptown Saturday Night, is held uptown along San Marco Boulevard. Free concerts on the Plaza and at the St. Augustine Beach Pier Pavilion are scheduled regularly throughout the year. During the summer months, the Conch House Marina Resort on Anastasia Island offers drive-up/boat-up Reggae Sunday party.

Fishing opportunities are abundant in St. Augustine area and range from beach fishing, to pier fishing, to marinas offering deep sea charter fishing. For boating, public launch ramps provide easy access to the intra-coastal waterway and St. Augustine inlet for Ocean access. Or, if a stroll through unspoiled nature is what you’re looking for, 5 minutes up A1A is the Guana River Nature Preserve, a Florida State Park. Just to the north of St. Augustine lies the World Golf Village that hosts the world golf Hall of Fame, an IMAX Theater, luxury hotel, a convention center, dining/shopping, and of course, golf.

Beyond St. Augustine more adventures await. Orlando and its famous theme parks and attractions are only a two hour drive away. The Kennedy Space Center near Titusville is also an easy drive down I95. Jacksonville sports complex is approx. 45 minutes away and offers the NFL Jaguars and the Minor League AA Jacksonville Suns, a Marlins farm team. Jacksonville offers more attractions. Among these are symphony concerts and events at the Times-Union Center and the Florida Theater. The Museum of Science and History offers a fun and educational experience for the children, and St. Johns Town Center Mall offers up-scale shopping and dining experiences. Jax Beach and Atlantic Beach areas offer beach dining and night life with an ocean-side setting. Jacksonville Arena at the Sports Complex also hosts major music tour events.

Tons of annual events are within easy reach. If you like motorcycling, Daytona Bike Week and Bike-toberfest are for you. If auto racing is your passion, The Daytona Speedway is less than an hour away. The Tournament Players Championship is played at Sawgrass Country Club only 20 minutes to the north. St. Augustine itself hosts a number of annual events at its festival grounds, next to the parking garage. Rhythm 'n Ribs is one of the best.
